 LifeBound's founder, Carol J. Carter, worked in the student success area on college campuses for 10 years before starting LifeBound. She was disturbed that so many of these statistics plague college students in the U.S.:


  


    

  • 1.5 million students are remediated for English and reading
    • 

  • 2.5 million students are remediated for math skills
    • 

  • The first two years of community college are often spent in remediation
    • 

  • In four-year schools, students suffer from stress and depression and often turn to alcohol and drugs despite academic ability and talent
    • 

  • Graduation for college students at four-year institutions often takes five years
    • 

  • Employers say college graduates still don't have enough of the communication and thinking skills they need
    • 

  • Unemployment rates in the U.S. among people 18-25 are the same as Egypt

How Did LifeBound Originate?

					
Students learn about themselves


 


Carter founded LifeBound to go directly to where American students begin to slip versus their developed world counterparts  fifth grade. LifeBound's stairstep program is based on the developmental learning and development stages.
